Confession;

One of my weaknesses is waiting. Now, that is a problem because patience is part of the fruit of the Spirit. I must constantly remind myself that waiting on God is NOT wasting time. So, join me this morning in reminding ourselves that waiting on the Lord is critical and biblical.

Isaiah 40:31

But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Psalm 27:14

Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Psalm 37:3-4

Trust in the Lord and do good;

Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness.

Delight yourself in the Lord;

And He will give you the desires of your heart.

We all have this decision as followers of Jesus;

Wait for God to lead, guide, move and/or provide

OR

Go ahead and move forward by trusting that we know best.

Ask Abraham and Sarah how that worked out.

Waiting on God does not mean that we are doing nothing at all. No! Walk in the light He has given us as we wait. Too many times I have wanted God to show me a way or provide something for me, when I wasn’t faithfully worshipping and serving Him in what I already knew for sure I was to be doing.

His timing is perfect, mine is terrible!

Charles Stanley said it like this;

“The only thing worse than waiting on God is NOT waiting on Him.”
