Psalm 11:6-7
6 Upon the wicked He will rain snares;
Fire and brimstone and burning wind will be the portion of their cup.
7 For the Lord is righteous, He loves righteousness;
The upright will behold His face.
Two eternal destinations.
Scripture is crystal clear. There is a Hell to be shunned and a Heaven to be gained.
To spend eternity in Hell, separated from God, one need do nothing. Why? Because we are sinners by nature, separated from God already. That is the state (spritually dead)of all before being truly redeemed by consciously repenting of Sin and believing upon or placing one’s faith in Christ alone for salvation.
(Ephesians 2:1-3)
1 And you were dead in your trespasses and sins,
2 in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience.
3 Among them WE too ALL formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.
There are NO exceptions. God does not make side deals.
Now, in order to be saved, redeemed, born again, the Holy Spirit must convict and convince one that
he/she is indeed separated from God, though one may name the name of Jesus or give mental assent that they believe in Him. Though they may testify that God has been good to them. Friend, God has been good, kind and gracious to everybody. His common graces of life extend to all, however do not mistaken the simple goodness and patience of God with true salvation. Salvation comes when one is conciously convicted of sin and drawn to turn to and cry out to God for His mercy and grace to save them.
When and IF that happens, one will find that God will not turn them away, but will, by His amazing grace, rescue him/her from the domain of darkness and transfer them to the kingdom of Jesus Christ (Colossians 1:13). That person will be transformed from the inside out and will be a new person altogether!
(2 Corinthians 5:17)
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a NEW creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.
THEN that person can confidently look forward to (v.7) The upright will behold His face.
One life on earth.
Two radically different eternal destinations.
