About Us

Dotson Memorial is a Christ-centered church committed to making disciples, loving our community, and sharing the hope of the gospel. We exist to glorify God through worship, biblical teaching, and living on mission—across the street and around the world. Whether you’re exploring faith or looking for a church home, we invite you to join us and experience what God is doing here.

What We Believe

At Dotson Memorial, we believe the Bible is God’s inerrant Word and that salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone. Our faith is built on the gospel of Jesus—His life, death, and resurrection—and we affirm the Baptist Faith & Message (2000) as a clear summary of the core truths we hold.

We believe in one living and true God—the Creator, Redeemer, Sustainer, and Ruler of all things. He exists eternally in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose from the dead, and now reigns in glory. One day, He will return personally and visibly.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. He exalts Christ, convicts people of sin, calls them to salvation, and empowers believers for holy living and service. He provides spiritual gifts and secures every believer until the day of redemption.

The Bible is God’s Word. It is inspired, inerrant, and infallible. The Scriptures are our final authority for faith and life. As 2 Timothy 3:16 says, it is “profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.”

Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. It includes regeneration (new birth), justification (right standing with God), sanctification (growing in holiness), and glorification (eternal perfection). It is entirely the work of God and cannot be earned.

The Church is the body of Christ. It is made up of all believers and expressed locally through autonomous congregations that gather for worship, teaching, fellowship, and mission. Each church operates under the Lordship of Christ and practices baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

Baptism is by immersion and is the public symbol of a believer’s faith in Christ. It represents death to sin and new life in Him. It is an act of obedience that follows salvation.

The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience where believers remember Christ’s death and anticipate His return. It is open to all believers who have examined themselves.

Every human life is sacred. We are created in the image of God and are of infinite value from conception to natural death. We affirm the dignity of all people regardless of age, ability, or circumstance.

Marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in a covenant relationship. It is a reflection of Christ’s relationship with the Church and is God’s design for human flourishing, including the gift of children and the blessing of family.

Believers will dwell with Christ forever. At death, they enter into His presence, and at the final judgment, they will be resurrected to eternal life. Those who reject Christ will face eternal separation from God.

We are called to love God, love others, and live holy lives. This includes personal devotion, moral integrity, generosity, service, and sharing the gospel with others.
