Psalm 19:14

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart

Be acceptable in Your sight,

O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer.

What a great desire and prayer!

Do you know what I noticed about this verse?

It works from the end result backwards all the way to where everything begins in a believer’s life.

The words of our mouths will only be acceptable or pleasing to God IF the meditations of our hearts are pleasing to God.

Dr. Adrian Rogers said it like this;

“ Whatever is in the well comes up in the bucket.”

Well, the meditations of our hearts or “thoughts sometimes set to music” will only be pleasing to God IF Jesus is Lord, not just over the entire universe, but personally in our lives.

Finally, Jesus will be our Lord and rock or strength only IF He is our personal Redeemer.

Redeemer is one who has purchased and delivered us from Sin.

So, we are redeemed which means that Jesus is our personal Lord which results in having our thoughts focused on Him and His kingdom, which finally is expressed by and through our words and actions.

The power for it all comes ONLY from God through His Word, therefore we should pray for this daily.
